Should there be laws protecting homosexuals from workplace discrimination?
The short answer
Real injustice should be corrected. If homosexual persons are being unjustly discriminated against at work, society may rightly correct that injustice through legislation.
Genuine injustice calls for correction. Where homosexual persons suffer unjust discrimination in the workplace, it is just for society to remedy it by law.
The Catechism teaches that such persons must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity, and that every sign of unjust discrimination against them should be avoided (CCC 2358).
