Did Jesus have a guardian angel?
The short answer
Since Jesus was truly a man, there is no reason to doubt that he had a guardian angel; a pious opinion holds that it was Michael the archangel. Scripture clearly records angels ministering to him.
A reasonable belief
Jesus was fully human, so there is no reason to doubt he had a guardian angel. A pious Christian opinion holds that Michael the archangel served in that role.
Angels in the Gospels
In Gethsemane, "to strengthen him an angel from heaven appeared to him" (Luke 22:43). Matthew 4:11 and Mark 1:13 also tell of angels ministering to Jesus after the devil tempted him.
Did he need them?
The Navarre Bible commentary on Luke explains that the Creator of all, who never needs anything from his creatures, was willing, as man, to accept comfort and help from those able to give it.
