Glory Be (Doxology)
A short hymn of praise to the Holy Trinity.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
About this prayer
This "lesser doxology" has been sung at the end of psalms since the early centuries. Its second line was emphasized against the Arian heresy to affirm that the Son has always been, equally with the Father.
