Our mission

Every day, millions of people type a question about the Catholic faith into a search box. Some are curious, some are returning after years away, some are preparing for a sacrament, some are skeptical. They deserve an answer that is accurate, patient and complete. Catholic.id exists to give them one.

Catholic identity

We present what the Catholic Church teaches, as she teaches it. Our reference points are Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the ecumenical councils, the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, and the teaching of the popes and bishops in communion with them. Where the Church leaves room for legitimate opinion, we say so.

Editorial philosophy

• Answer first. Every question opens with a short, direct answer before going deeper.
• Show the sources. Scripture and Catechism references are linked, so readers can check our work.
• Label the weight. We distinguish defined dogma, authoritative teaching, theological opinion and popular devotion.
• Charity in disagreement. We explain other Christians' views fairly, and answer objections without contempt.
• No ads. Nothing on the page competes with the answer.

Content is written and reviewed by the Catholic.id editorial team, with theological review of doctrinal content. Contributor profiles are published with each byline as the team grows.
