Why shouldn't we applaud the choir at the end of Mass?
The short answer
The church is not a concert hall and the liturgy is not a performance. We are there to direct our attention to God, not each other. If you appreciate the music, compliment the director after Mass.
Not a performance
The church is for prayer, not performances, and the liturgy is not a show. We are there to attend to God, not to each other.
A better way
There is a time and place for everything. To show appreciation for the music, thank the director after Mass.
