Grace Before Meals
The traditional Catholic blessing before a meal.
Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
About this prayer
Begin and end with the Sign of the Cross. Many families add a petition for those who are hungry, or for the faithful departed: "May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace."
