Answers grounded in Scripture and the Catechism.
Today's Scripture
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
John 3:16 · NABRE
Love is the first word of the Gospel. Before any command, God gives — and what he gives is himself.

Q&A
Most-asked questions
What is the Eucharist?
The Eucharist is the sacrament in which Jesus Christ is truly present — body, blood, soul and divinity — under the appearances of bread and wine. Catholics receive him in Holy Communion, and the Church calls it "the source and summit of the Christian life."
How do I go to confession? A step-by-step guide
Prepare with an examination of conscience, go to the priest, make the Sign of the Cross and say how long it has been since your last confession, confess your sins, listen to his counsel and penance, pray an Act of Contrition, and receive absolution. If you forget the words, just say so — the priest will help.
Why do Catholics pray to Mary?
Catholics do not worship Mary; they ask her to pray for them, just as Christians ask one another for prayers. Because she is the Mother of Jesus and is alive in Christ, her intercession is powerful — as at Cana, where Jesus worked his first miracle at her request.
What is the Holy Trinity?
The Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith: there is one God in three divine Persons — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, nor three masks of one person, but one divine nature, fully shared by three really distinct Persons.
Who decided which books are in the Bible?
The books of the Bible were written over many centuries, but the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, discerned which writings were inspired. The full 73-book canon was set out by regional councils in the late fourth century and solemnly defined by the Council of Trent in 1546.
What is purgatory?
Purgatory is a final purification for those who die in God's friendship but are not yet perfectly holy. It is not a second chance or a third destination: everyone in purgatory is saved and on the way to heaven. The Church prays for them, especially at Mass.
